A recent report has highlighted Stockfish’s expanding role as a ‘regional industry hub,’ specifically naming The Whale Writers' Lab as a cornerstone of their talent development strategy. Under the leadership of Tina Gharavi, and managed by Bridge + Tunnel Productions and O Brave New Story, the lab continues to provide a vital space for underrepresented filmmakers to bridge the gap between creative vision and global market readiness.

Building on the success of our work in Iceland, we are now looking toward our THE WHALE Paris Lab, 7-9 September 2026. If you have an urgent story to tell, we want to help you tell it.
For the first time, our advanced program will be accompanied by a beginner’s opportunity: MINNOWS. This foundational course, running 6–10 September 2026, will introduce first-time screenwriters to the craft and conclude with a chance to attend a professional industry pitch session on the last day.
