Bridge + Tunnel Productions was founded in 1998 by Tina Gharavi. Having produced a number of short films, including Panino (Edinburgh Film Festival), Closer (winner of the Planetout/iFilm Movie Award at Sundance) we were commissioned to make our first prime-time documentary in conjunction with October Films: Mother/Country (Channel 4 TV, UK). Since those early days, we have produced a diverse production portfolio.

We continue to develop new productions and community media initiatives including work with women refugees: Wellwoman (Manchester Art Gallery & Museum), Asylum Carwash (Sunderland Museum & Winter Garden) and Flight Paths, an anti-racist awareness training project. Most recently we have been commissioned to undertake a project combating Islamophobia for Show Racism the Red Card.

Bridge + Tunnel works in partnership with our sister organisation Nomad Cultural Forum, delivering a range of education and charitable projects including a film tracing the Yemeni community in South Shields Last of the Dictionary Men.

Currently, Bridge + Tunnel is working on a host of productions and developing an independent feature film due to go into production in spring 2008.
