i-Kooch – Community Web Narrative Project (Interactive Website, 2006)
An interactive web narrative project for Middle-Eastern asylum seekers and refugees based in the North-East of England to share their stories worldwide. The project will take the form of a website, continually developed and updated by Kooch group members. Incorporating their ideas and work, each individual Kooch member will develop a non-linear narrative story. The concept is that each members’ web-page will symbolize a landscape. This virtual landscape could represent the journey from their homeland, via the countries they traveled through, to Tyneside. The project is being developed in partnership with the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK)
Funded by: Northern Film & Media, Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle, Awards for All, Arts Council England
