Over
20 years ago, at the age of six, director Tina Gharavi left Iran and
her mother, to live with her father in the West. This intensely
personal film follows her as she returns for the first time, to
confront her past and attempt to gain answers from her mother about why
she was sent away. While her own experiences are filmed, Tina also
employs actors to play out the roles of her and her mother as they look
on, as observers witnessing a communication that they struggle to
achieve in reality. As the visit draws to a close, her mother remains
elusive about her past decision, while Tina has a bombshell of her own
to drop.
